"From 4.2 hectares of vineyards on the edge of the plateau of Pomerol, sandwiched between Rouget and Le Gay, the 2021 La Croix de Gay exhibits attractive aromas of sweet raspberries, cherries, rose petals and spices. Medium-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's an ample, seamless wine with fine tannins and lively acids. The blend is 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc."

"The 2021 La Croix de Gay did show some reduction on three samples tasted, and yet underneath, I feel there is some underripeness. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins, and rather hard for a Pomerol, with an austere, bitter finish. I re-tasted this from two further bottles, hoping to find a more promising wine, but they simply reaffirmed my initial finding." von NEAL MARTIN
